Furloughs are only granted to inmates with a perfect record and relatively short time left remaining on their sentence. You can call the facility and ask to speak to your inmate's counselor or case manager to see if he qualifies.
Read moreThere are several release options being offered to inmates with non-violent offenses. We are hearing that home confinement is the preferred method for these furloughed releases. Just a caution to the loved ones of possible release, they will have serious stipulations on the release and you can help make sure yours sticks to the rules because we are also hearing people violating within hours and then being sent back to the SHU. "Be careful" is all I'm saying.

Read moreYes, that is the step-down pattern for inmates close to the door. They are given little bits of freedom to slowly rejoin the family unit and successfully get back into society. Your fiance needs to be on top of his game in following directions and being where he is supposed to be at all times. This is not a time to play it fast and loose.
