Does an Inmate Get Notified When You Set Up Their Profile?

I have set up an inmates profile that has only been in 3 weeks now that self surrendered. How long before they know that their account or profile has been set up.

InmateAid does not automatically notify an inmate when a profile is created for them.

InmateAid does not automatically notify an inmate when a profile is created for them. The notification comes from you.

The most direct way to let your family member know their profile exists is through a letter. Write and tell them that you have set up a Personal Inmate Page on InmateAid, explain what services are available through the site, and let them know how to make use of it from their end. For federal inmates who have access to CorrLinks, the federal email system, InmateAid can also communicate directly with them once they opt in and add InmateAid to their contact list. Through CorrLinks we send updates on changing laws, relevant news, and other information that may be useful during their incarceration.

The Personal Inmate Page is designed to consolidate everything in one place for families. Letters, photos, phone service, money transfers, and other resources are all accessible through the profile, and having it set up early means you are organized and ready to use those services throughout the sentence and into reentry.

For someone who just self-surrendered three weeks ago, getting a letter out now with information about the profile is a good first step toward establishing regular communication.
