AMCI serves Avery and Mitchell Counties in North Carolina, with a capacity to house 816 male offenders at a medium custody level. Situated on a 100-acre parcel of land along the county line, the facility comprises three dormitory-style units, complemented by a central administrative building and 40 segregation cells.
