The CDCR-McFarland Female Community Reentry Facility - GEO located at 120 Taylor Ave McFarland, CA, focuses on successful offender reintegration into society, crucial for effective crime control. With high recidivism rates, evidence-based practices tailor programs for medium to high-risk individuals, reducing repeat offenses. Reentry and Treatment Centers offer structured environments and various programs aiding rehabilitation and community reconnection efforts. Collaborating with the Kern Sheriff's Department, the California Department of Corrections, and sometimes the US Marshal Service/Federal Bureau of Prisons, comprehensive reentry services prioritize education, substance abuse treatment, and workforce development. The facility spans 36,704 square feet, encompassing a single-story masonry building situated on five acres of land. It boasts a comprehensive healthcare unit along with dedicated spaces for classroom instruction, counseling sessions, and visitation. Educational amenities comprise a computer laboratory and a library, catering to the intellectual needs of the inmates. Additionally, indoor and outdoor recreational areas are provided for leisure activities.
A fully equipped kitchen ensures efficient meal service for the occupants, while the dayrooms and sleeping quarters are furnished to high standards, maintaining cleanliness and comfort. The modern design of the facility incorporates advanced correctional techniques, including radial design and direct supervision, aimed at enhancing security and operational efficiency.
