Do inmates get magazines online or in the mail?

When and how so inmates receive magazines? Do they view them online or will they receive the actual magazine?

Inmates receive physical magazines, not digital or online versions.

Most inmates do not have access to the internet, so everything comes through the mail just like regular subscriptions outside.

How it works:

  • You order a magazine subscription through an approved publisher or service
  • The publisher mails each issue directly to the facility
  • The mailroom inspects it for content and contraband
  • The magazine is delivered to the inmate during mail call

Important rules:

  • Magazines must come directly from the publisher or approved vendor
  • No used copies or personal subscriptions mailed from your home
  • Content must follow facility guidelines

Timing:

  • Delivery depends on the magazine’s release schedule
  • Plus a few extra days for mailing and mailroom processing

For inmates, magazines are one of the best ways to pass time, stay connected to the outside world, and have something to look forward to regularly.

So in simple terms, they get the actual magazine in their hands, just like you would at home.
