Yes, it is possible, but you will need special approval first.

When you are on felony probation, you are not automatically allowed to visit someone in prison. You must get permission from both sides:

1. The prison must approve you

  • You will need to submit a visitor application
  • They will see that you are on probation
  • This usually triggers a review and requires a waiver

2. Your probation officer must approve it

  • This is very important
  • You should contact your probation officer before applying
  • Visiting a prison without their approval could violate your probation

What usually happens:

  • If both the facility and your probation officer approve, you can visit
  • If either denies it, you will not be allowed

About bringing your infant son:

  • Yes, children are typically allowed during visits
  • You may need to list your child on the visitation application
  • Bring proper ID or documentation if required

Best steps to take now:

  • Talk to your probation officer first and explain the situation
  • Then submit the prison visitation application
  • Wait for approval before making any plans

Bottom line:

  • It is not automatic, but it is possible
  • Approval ahead of time is required
  • Once approved, bringing your infant is usually not a problem

Taking the extra step to clear it with your probation officer first will protect you and make the process smoother.
